Everyone leaves a digital footprint; that’s why everyone is affected by data protection.
The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect in May, which provides a strict universal set of Data Protection rules for any organisation operating within the EU. The aim of the new regulations is to protect all EU citizens from misuse of private and personal data equally and discreetly.
Here at Fitwise, we’ve been gearing up for the introduction of GDPR for months. Our interdepartmental panel has been ironing out all the kinks with legal professionals so that, when May arrives, our clients and our event attendees can rest easy knowing that their sensitive date will be handled with care.
We won’t bore you with everything we’ve been up to behind the scenes but if you want to find out more, visit the EU’s official GPDR site (https://www.eugdpr.org/). Alternatively, the International Commissioner’s Office have released a useful checklist which provides a more digestible guide to the new laws and how to get prepared (https://ico.org.uk/media/1624219/preparing-for-the-gdpr-12-steps.pdf).
Fitwise are ready; are you?
