As we all face the uncertainty of COVID-19, many of us are facing a new daily routine – working from home. Below are some ways you can make working from home work for you and your family.
Create a workspace that works for you! Whether that’s in a spare room, conservatory or a corner in your living room – find a designated work space to call your own.
Stick to a schedule – but expect disruptions. Try to keep your daily routine as normal as possible. Get up, get dressed, make a cuppa and make working from home feel as much like your day in the office as you can. Make a to-do list and have morning facetime huddles with your team.
If you have children, disruptions will happen probably more than you’d like, so try to be flexible in your working hours, have crafts, playdough and films on the ready… and may the odds be ever in your favour.
Take breaks and get moving! Stretch your legs, go on a walk, do a 15-minute workout! Wear a Fitbit and make sure you’re taking around the same amount of steps you normally would during a normal working day – or even more!
Keep in touch. Stay connected with colleagues… and not just for work! Send emails, text, and facetime. Give each other support, tell jokes, laugh! At the end of the day, we are all in this together and we will need each other to get through the other side.
