Overview: Our client, the British Association of Urological Nurses (BAUN) holds an annual conference for Urology Professionals and concurrent workshops. The association has also held regular one-day study days across the UK on specialist urology topics.
BAUN Conference 2022 was centered round Showcasing the Impact of Urological Nursing. Being the first in-person conference in 3 years, it attracted over 220 delegates and featured a sold-out exhibition which proved to be very popular throughout the event.
What do Fitwise do: Fitwise are the Professional Conference Organiser (PCO) for BAUN and have been for the last 20 years. Working alongside their conference organising committee, the Fitwise team support in the event organisation, delegate marketing and exhibition sales. From the initial planning right through to the event itself the team are on hand every step of the way.
What did delegates experience at the event?
BAUN Conference 2022 ran over 3 days and took place at the EICC in Edinburgh. The first day was pre-conference workshops where delegates attended either the Flexible Cystoscopy or LATP workshops. Day 1 and 2 saw the full conference sessions taking place, with day one coming to a close with the BAUN Gala Awards Dinner, attended by over 165 delegates.
Being the first in-person event in 3 years, delegates were happy and excited to be back face-to-face with colleagues and fellow urology professionals from around the country and beyond. Fitwise got the chance to use their new in-house badging system at the event, one of the largest events we have used it at since its launch, and registration was a great success.
Fitwise work with the AV company Talking Slides for a lot of our events. They joined us for BAUN 2022 to make sure everything from the AGM to the Gala Awards Dinner, all ran without a hitch. With Talking Slides’ assistance, delegates enjoyed a seamless conference experience, with 95% of delegates agreeing that the overall organisation of the conference
was good or excellent.
Additionally, 90% of delegates said that BAUN Conference had met their expectations.

Delegates got the chance to network and discuss the latest products and services in the industry during the exhibition. The exhibition was a sellout, meaning delegates could speak to suppliers from a host of different companies throughout the event.
