Paul joined Fitwise in 2008, with over 25 years’ experience operating within senior sales & marketing roles, predominantly within the healthcare and technology sector. Paul has a thorough understanding of conferences & exhibitions, having commissioned a number of events in his various international marketing roles.
Paul has contributed greatly to the development of additional revenue streams for our clients, by introducing new concepts to their approach to market. Paul is also closely involved in new business development, and is always keen to open discussions with prospective healthcare clients.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Paul spends most of his leisure time hill walking, travelling and trying new foods!
What did you want to be when you were small?
Paul wanted to be a pilot in the navy, obviously he had watched Top Gun and Officer and Gentleman too many times in the 1980’s, besides he wasn’t that keen on flying after all!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

With a qualification in Display Design, Kristin started working as a Visual Merchandiser in multiple trades such as fashion and furniture. Kristin then swapped a life of lifting heavy furniture to sales admin and marketing, which lead to working as a Senior Association Manager for Fitwise. Bringing her skills of working at tradeshows with a large client base and a love for Microsoft Excel, she found Fitwise the perfect fit for the next step in her career.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
When she’s not working you’ll find Kristin reading a book with a cat or 2 in her lap or at a rock gig. Kristin also loves travelling the world with her partner and is forever changing the décor in her house.

Travelling is a huge passion for Alana, and she finds great fulfilment in exploring new destinations, immersing herself in different cultures, and discovering the beauty and uniqueness of each place she visits. Whether strolling through historic streets, trying local cuisine, or meeting new people, she is always eager to expand her horizons and broaden her perspective through travel.
When not out exploring the world, Alana loves to unwind by indulging in marathon sessions of her favourite TV shows. It’s her way of unwinding and escaping into captivating storylines, relishing the opportunity to be entertained and enthralled by the characters and plots that unfold on the screen.

Michelle joined Fitwise in July 2021. Her main role is membership administrator, dealing with day-to-day queries relating to association membership. Before joining Fitwise, Michelle was employed as a Clerical Assistant in a Primary School and before that she was employed in the banking industry for over 20 years.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and dog. They enjoy spending time out and about discovering new places to visit, usually stopping off for tea and cake.

Kendel joined Fitwise in April 2019 as a Membership Secretary and has developed her career to become an Association Manger. Kendel is responsible for the day to day management of an association with duties including, mailbox management, meeting management, document control, membership management, GDPR compliance, e-learning module processing.
Previous to joining Fitwise, Kendel had just returned from a year of travelling the world and her favourite countries that she visited were New Zealand and Japan. Outside of work, Kendel is now busy looking after her little girl.

Sharon gained an HND in Business Studies then was employed by the Civil Service before buying a café with her husband which they sold after 13 years. Sharon then joined Fitwise in 2016. As an Association Manger, she supports an association with the day to day management, meeting management for the executive committee and various subcommittees, website updates, management and running monthly Zoom webinars, document control, GDPR compliance and membership of the association. Sharon is always willing to help others when she can and is keen to build good working relationships with colleagues and clients alike.
What is your favourite part of your role?
Always being busy and learning to do things she never thought she would be able to do.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Sharon spends a lot of time with her family and always makes time to catch up with friends she has had since childhood. Going for walks at the weekend or watching a good movie on a rainy day are also something Sharon enjoys doing to unwind after a busy week. Sharon also loves travelling, relaxing by the pool with a good crime book and taking in the sights during her various city breaks.

Usually knowing where everything is in the building and being a good multitasker.
Favourite Movies?
The Bishop’s Wife (1947) and Some Like it Hot (1959). Although Sharon likes watching new movies her favourites are the old black and white ones.

Nicola gained the majority of her PA experience working for the CEO of a Credit Union, having enjoyed 6 and a half years with the company before taking a career break to assist in caring for a family member. In Spring 2024, Nicola joined us at Fitwise, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. Nicola has always been a self-starter, having bought her own home at 21. She is incredibly proud of her home, but is even more proud of her dog, Mylo. Mylo is Nicolas pride and joy, and it is safe to say he loves her just as much as she loves him! Mylo is absolutely glued to Nicola and hates being alone, so much so that Nicolas family members have become full time doggy-sitters as he needs to be kept company while she’s at work!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
In her free time, Nicola keeps herself busy by staying active and going to the gym, which has become a huge part of her life and a big source of enjoyment over the years. Nicola also loves all things beauty, which goes hand in hand with her love of shopping! When time permits, Nicola and her partner enjoy going on weekend getaways and enjoy booking the odd holiday, so long as Mylo has someone to keep him company!

Michaela joined Fitwise in January 2017 as an Administration Executive.
Vicky joined the Fitwise team in summer 2024 in a PA/Secretariat support role and loves nothing more than helping associations to run as efficiently as they can. Vicky has 15 years of administrative experience, with the past 5 years spent in association management. Prior to that, she worked as a HR Administrator for a large defence company and as a PA to a company buyer at a large garden centre. Vicky is responsible for the day-to-day management of an association with duties including meeting management, inbox management, governance and supporting with a training and certification programme.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
In her free time, Vicky enjoys walking in the countryside with her husband and rescue dog, Biscuit. She is an avid reader, reading at least one book per week and loves watching football and F1 at the weekends. She also drinks at least 8 cups of tea a day!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, Shirley enjoys spending time with her son, although she admits that as a teenager, he does not always have time for her! An enthusiastic traveller, she has explored over twenty-five countries, gaining rich cultural experiences along the way. Shirley-Anne also enjoys socialising with her friends and is an avid pool player, finding immense joy in friendly competition.

Outside of work, Karen is the definition of adventurous—she’s currently working her way through an ever-growing bucket list and has already completed 23 exciting solo adventures (and counting!). More recently, she’s taken her weekends to the next level with “Extreme Day Trips,” visiting a European city, a day at a time.
When she’s not on the move, Karen enjoys unwinding at home—binging the latest true crime or drama series, diving into creative decorating projects, strolling while listening to a great playlist, or simply relaxing in the garden with a good book. Her adventurous heart and creative flair make her a valued member of the team and a joy to work with.

Stacy has many years of experience in finance and administration, having previously worked at an asset management company, and within the wine trade. She studied at Heriot Watt University, graduating in summer 2024 with an MA in Accounting.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Most weekend’s you will find Stacy at the side of a rugby pitch with her two daughters who are both keen rugby players – one of whom plays for Scotland U20s! She also helps with her youngest daughter’s club as the team manager at U16 level. When she manages to find a spare minute to herself, Stacy love to relax with a bit of crochet Amigurumi.

Stacy says her happy place is at the beach, preferably at sunset, accompanied by the sound of waves crashing up onto shore – pure bliss!

Elaine joined the Fitwise team in May 2016, and plays a key role in the pre-planning, delivery and post-event actions for some of our largest conferences (with the odd one-day thrown in the mix!). Elaine is renowned for her keen eye for detail, excellent time management and positive ‘can do’ attitude, all of which are essential as an event manager. Elaine is also fondly known as ‘work mum’ to some of the girls in her team, who know they can always count on her for advice, support, or even just a good chitchat!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Elaine loves to spend her weekends visiting friends and family, and spends much of her free time with her two toy poodles, Ozzi and Coco.

Before joining Fitwise Emma studied Festival & Event Management at Edinburgh Napier University and progressed to working in the charity sector where she organised training events and conferences. Emma joined the Fitwise team in August 2021 as an Event Coordinator and in October 2022 was promoted to an Event Manager.
Emma is known as the ‘EventsAir Guru’ in the Events Team and is always on the lookout for ways the team can improve on our, already, gold star services.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Emma is always shopping or seeing a musical! Recent shows include Hamilton, Sister Act and Six!

Jade has always had a keen passion and interest for events since she left school. In 2022, Jade finally decided to pursue her career in the events industry and joined Fitwise as the Event Coordinator. After a year of building her events experience, she temporarily stepped up to the role of Event Manager to help through our busy conference season. Finally, in January 2025, Jade was officially promoted to be an Event Manager. Jades experience as both coordinator and manager means she has built extensive knowledge into all of our clients events, which proves a great asset to the team.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Jade loves anything fitness related, waking up early every morning before work to head to gym. She enjoys going on hikes and always makes sure to get her 10,000 steps in with her dog, Rufus. Jade also loves travel and makes sure to make use of her holidays to explore different parts of the world.

Denise moved over from Ireland in 2014 for her final year of university, met her husband and never left. She previously worked in hotels/venues as an event manager, and now uses her skills as an Event Manager here at Fitwise. Denise has experience managing large international events throughout the UK, and their social programmes.

Denise enjoys socialising with friends, visiting family in Ireland and travelling. She is always looking to visit a new place and try out the local cuisine as she is a complete foodie!

Janah graduated from Edinburgh Napier University with a BA (Hons) International Festival and Events Management. Before finding her passion for events, she studied music business and briefly worked for a record label, managing bands and artists.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Janah always says she would love a lazy day but she can’t seem to sit down long enough to have one! When she’s not working she likes to fill her time playing the drums in Coalburn IOR Pipeband, going on adventures with her partner and dog as well as tending to her indoor plants (a recent endeavor). Janah also loves visiting friends and family, reading a good book, and attending gigs and concerts.

Heather joined Fitwise in June 2022. She gained her degree in Theatre and Film from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, and subsequently gained her marketing experience firstly in the telecoms industry then through the Edinburgh events sector before joining Fitwise.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Heather is a foodie at heart so is never too far away from the newest restaurant or cocktail bar. However as a new parent, her nights out have quickly turned to nights in!
Favourite place in the world?
Cairns, Australia – having travelled there when she was 18 for a 3 week holiday over Hogmanay, she had the time of her life – she loved it so much that she even went back over Christmas 2023 for her honeymoon!

Sophie joined Fitwise upon completing her Masters of Arts in Marketing at Heriot-Watt University, which taught her all the foundational skills that help her thrive in her job today. While at university, Sophie gained a well-rounded understanding of wider business functions such as HR, accountancy and operations management, but really enjoys being able to combine her love of project management and marketing by working in the events sector!
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
In her spare time, you can find Sophie hopping on a plane (shoutout to £7.99 Ryanair flights!), eating good food and filling up her camera roll with endless holiday snaps! On the quieter weekends, she keeps herself busy watching the F1 or training for the endless number of half marathons that she continually signs herself up for (no, her knees do not thank her for this!).
Favourite place in the world?
Aberfeldy – you really can’t beat a bit of Scottish scenery! Although if we’re talking experiences, she’d have to say her holiday to Egypt and seeing King Tut is a very close second!
What is your favourite thing about working for Fitwise?
Sophie really enjoys being part of the on site team at our client events, offering herself up to attend wherever she can! She also particularly enjoys the cyclical nature of events – the minute one has wrapped up it’s time to start working on another!

Sammy has recently joined Fitwise as a Sales Campaign Executive bringing over six years of sales experience with her. Being organised and having meticulous attention to detail are some of the strengths she brings to the team, along with the ability to juggle a mix of projects at the same time.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, Sammy is a wife, mum, and dog mum. She enjoys spending her days off with family, enjoying brunch with the girls or travelling the UK attending various music gigs and festivals. After a long day or a busy weekend, her favourite way to unwind is cuddling up on the sofa with her beloved Dudley – a wonderfully crusty old Border Collie.
Favourite place in the world?
Sammy aims to take at least one holiday in the sun, and one city break each year. Her favourite holiday so far has been a family trip to Tenerife where she visited Siam Park, went scuba diving with a ‘shark’ (a 10-inch bath toy) and befriended a capuchin monkey – the perfect highlight for someone who is totally animal obsessed.
Shelley is our newly appointed Business Development Manager, with over 30 years of experience in the hotel, events, corporate and association meetings industry.
After graduating from Manchester University with a Bachelor of Science degree, Shelley has worked in the hospitality and events industry, at the conference office of the Crowne Plaza Hotel Manchester, then working with Marriott Hotels as Sales and Revenue Manager and then with the Scottish Event Campus setting up their corporate conference sales team.
At the SEC, Shelley worked closely with associations, many of them medical and scientific and developed a love for collaborating with the association teams and their Professional Conference Organiser partners and helping deliver the best possible experience for all involved.
Shelley now joins us as Business Development Manager, her “Dream job”.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Shelley loves to be in the hills and mountains, with a passion for trail running and hillwalking. Shelley runs with the Strathaven Striders who introduced her to ultra distance running.
Favourite place in the world?
Derwentwater, Keswick, Cumbria, where she has spent many happy times running, hillwalking and socialising with family and friends.
