Our 2018 autumn conference season kicked off on the 30th September with one of our oldest and biggest clients, the Infection Prevention Society.
This year, the event came to our neck of the woods – Glasgow and the Scottish Event Campus. Fitwise were out in force with a mix of staff from the events, marketing, sales and admin teams all ensuring that the conference ran like clockwork!
Over the 3 days, more than 1,100 people came through registration including delegates, speakers and exhibitors. Despite this, the desk was never overwhelmed and registrations were processed efficiently to give the best possible experience. A massive thanks to Nicola, our registration guru, who remained calm, informative and welcoming throughout!
One highlight which was new to IP2018 was the Infection Prevention Show – led by NHS doctor, journalist and comedian Dr Phil Hammond. A free show held in the heart of the exhibition, it was a phenomenal opportunity to recognise the importance of the medical companies supporting IP2018.
The Show featured streamlined real-time voting and Q&A via the conference app. At the end, 100% of attendees agreed that the Infection Prevention Show should return to IP2019!
Lauren Nagle, the Event Manager, who had worked tirelessly with the IPS education committee since before IP2017, was rightfully pleased with the success of the event.
I felt that the event ran well overall. I was most happy with the enthusiasm of the onsite Fitwise team – nothing was a problem for them.
In terms of the event itself, I was thoroughly pleased to see the Infection Prevention Show come together and see so many people turn up to take part.
Another fresh element for IP2018 were the headsets used in the poster talk areas, providing a more concentrated listening environment – these received glowing reviews from attendees. During the conference debrief meeting, IPS were complimentary of Fitwise for our involvement and hard work before/during the conference.
All in all a positive experience with a great team!
Our team had a great time on-site at IP2018, and we’re already looking forward to IP2019 in Liverpool!
