Stacy joined Fitwise in November 2002. Her first experience with Fitwise was travelling to Telford in a white van with two colleagues she had only met at interview. Fast forward numerous years and Stacy has progressed through the company from Events Assistant through to Head of Events and now Head of Client Support Services.
We took some time to ask Stacy more about her experiences working at Fitwise.
How long have you worked at Fitwise? What is your professional background?
I started with Fitwise as an events assistant in November 2002, developing through my career to Head of Events. In May 2019 the position of CSS Head of Department became available, and I decided this was a great opportunity to learn more about another side of the Fitwise business.
What are your key responsibilities? Do you have any areas of special expertise?
As Head of Client Support Services, I am responsible for our Personal Assistants and Administrators. I ensure that the team have the skills and knowledge they need to fulfil their roles. A lot of my time is dedicated to process improvement and advising on the technical aspects of the role. Things have progressed hugely in the technical requirements of our team, in house we build online platforms for elections and awards, facilitate webinars, virtual/hybrid meetings and website upgrades. In addition to this I am client lead to a number of clients, ensuring that their day-to-day needs are being met throughout Fitwise and offering guidance and support.
What is something you find challenging about your work, and why?
As we work predominantly with charities a big challenge can be fulfilling their goals within a confined budget. I enjoy this challenge as it involves creative thinking and collaboration within Fitwise to achieve the desired result.
Where are we most likely to find you outside of work? Do you have any hobbies?
I enjoy playing Netball and was Secretary of my local netball team, it is great exercise but also sociable and fun. I also enjoy nothing more on a Sunday than binging on a good TV show.
What is your favourite part about being part of the CSS department at Fitwise?
Other than my team who are great to work with, always enthusiastic and supportive, it has to be the variety of work. There is no typical day in the CSS department, I can be assisting with governance guidance in the morning and building an awards platform in the afternoon.
Is there anything about working for healthcare associations that you particularly enjoy?
There is nothing more rewarding than helping an organisation achieve their goals, particular the main goal to educate their members in their specialist area of healthcare.
Out of everyone on earth, who would you most like to swap places with for a day?
As I have the coordination of an elephant and no vocal abilities I would say a famous singer. Not sure who as there are so many to choose from.
How do you define success?
Feeling fulfilled because you gave something your all.
Is there anything in store for your department, or Fitwise as a whole, that you are especially looking forward to?
Getting back to more face-to-face meetings and events, virtual meetings are fantastic but nothing builds a great relationship like spending time face to face.
