Managing Social Media for Multiple Clients

Managing Social Media for Multiple Clients

When you manage social media for multiple clients, it’s important to keep organised and stay ahead of the game. There are 2.3 billion active social media users (source) and it’s ever-changing; therefore, you have to be too! Here are tips to managing social media for multiple clients (and doing it well)

SCHEDULING AHEAD OF TIME
Social media is an important aspect of marketing, but it’s not the only one! It shouldn’t take up all your time, but shouldn’t be ad hoc either. Therefore, look to schedule your tweets and posts ahead of time. For example, create your September’s schedule in August. Do some research on your target audience, use the right hashtags, and try and pick days and times when social media is most active.

This is where Excel spreadsheets are now your best friend. Create different documents for each of your clients and within each document, create tabs for each month. Allow a column for your tweet or post, the date of deployment, and whether it’s been scheduled. You can even add a column for the word count if it’s for Twitter and hyperlink posts with images you want to use with them.

This way, you are organised, prepared, and aren’t getting your clients’ tweets all mixed up!

TAKING ADVANTAGE OF FREE ONLINE TOOLS
Once your client approves your schedule, use an online tool to schedule your posts in advance. Hootsuite is great for multiple social media platforms and analytics, whereas TweetDeck is great for multiple clients’ Twitter accounts. Schedule your posts and then sit back and relax!

KEEPING UP WITH ONLINE TRENDS
Blink and something new has emerged in the world of digital marketing, especially social media. This is why it is important to stay ahead of the game and up to date with online trends.

For example, Twitter polls just popped up at the tail end of 2015. This is great way to get your audience involved and have them engaged with you. Click to Tweet isn’t exactly hot off the press, but isn’t exactly a well-known tool. It should be though, as it allows you to connect your websites to Twitter and prompts those on your site to tweet what you want them to say! Clever!

THE FINAL SAY
Don’t be afraid to try new things, or offer them to your clients! Staying organised and using free tools off and online will help you manage social media – whether you have two or two hundred clients.
