In this blog, we’ll be exploring how we keep morale high at Fitwise. We know that a positive workplace culture is about more than enjoying your job. It’s about feeling valued, supported and connected. Our values are at the heart of everything we do. They help us create a workplace where people feel encouraged to get involved, build relationships and enjoy coming to work.
It’s important to create opportunities for everyone to connect. When everyone feels connected and supported, it has a positive impact not only on morale, but also on collaboration and creativity.
Making wellbeing part of everyday working life
One of the ways we encourage connection and wellbeing is through Wellness Clubs.
Our Wellness Clubs give colleagues the opportunity to take part in activities they enjoy. It also allows them to spend time together.
From our Book Club and Walking Club to Pilates Club, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re looking to get active, discover a new book or simply take some time away from your desk, our clubs provide an informal way to get involved.
These clubs are also a great way to encourage participation. These small interactions can make a big difference in creating a friendly, inclusive and connected workplace.
Alongside our Wellness Clubs, we’ve also introduced a standing desk with a walking pad underneath. It gives team members the option to get their steps in during the working day. Although, we must admit, typing while walking takes a little getting used to! As well as promoting physical activity, it offers a welcome change of working environment.
Giving back through CSR
Giving back is another important part of life at Fitwise.
Colleagues from across the business make up our five-person CSR team. The team organises a wide range of activities throughout the year. From bake sales and quizzes, to company-wide holiday celebrations.
Fundraising has been a particular focus for the team this year. We’re proud to be supporting St Andrew’s Hospice, a charity close to the heart of one of our colleagues. So far, team members have taken on Conic Hill and the Edinburgh Kiltwalk, alongside hosting perhaps one too many bake sales, with all proceeds going directly to the charity. Together, we’ve raised more than £2,300. We look forward to continuing our support into 2027.
Investing in our People
Our commitment to our people is also recognised through our Platinum Investors in People Award.
In 2021, Fitwise was awarded the Platinum Investors in People award, and we are immensely proud to be among the top 1% of UK companies to achieve this level. This mark of excellence reflects our commitment to creating a positive working environment where our people are supported, developed and valued.
For us, maintaining high morale isn’t about one single initiative. It’s about creating a culture where people feel appreciated, connected and proud to be part of the team.
From our values and Wellness Clubs to our commitment to CSR and Investors in People, we’re continually looking for ways to support our people and make Fitwise a great place to work!
