This month we interviewed Betty Kwok from our Marketing Team.  Betty joined Fitwise in 2016 and has been an integral part of the team since, working across our client and event portfolio.

Question 1: What do you enjoy about working in the event and association management industry?
As a Marketing Assistant, the typical goal of your role is to market your products or services and hopefully watch the sales grow. However, in the event and association management industry, there is more to it than sales! The main goal for me in Fitwise is to market events to the right people and work as a team with all the other departments to deliver a successful event together. When you see an event come together on the day and all the delegates are there because of your actions, you get a real sense of achievement!

Question 2: What do you like about working at Fitwise?
With Fitwise being an employee owned company, you feel that all the employees do take a genuine interest in how the company is performing and it isn’t just a job you come into everyday to wait for your day to end. As I mentioned previously, teamwork is key in my role so we all work closely together and when you enjoy working with your colleagues, it makes your job fun!

Question 3: What’s the favourite part of your job?
Definitely the design aspect of my role. If you have read my blog from when I first joined Fitwise, you will know that I wished I went onto Uni to study graphics design if I could turn back time. However, I think I get the best of both worlds at Fitwise as I not only get to be involved in the design side of things but have also gained so much more marketing experience overall in the event and association management industry.

Question 4: Where’s your favourite place in the world?
I would have to say my home. I love travelling and seeing different parts of the world but after a few weeks, I would always look forward to going home.

Question 5: What’s the best meal you have had?
Anyone that knows me will know that I’m a major foodie so I honestly can’t choose one best meal, I just love food too much! 

Question 6: Do you have any pets?After years and years of dreaming of having a dog, I finally got one a few months ago! We got Ellie the lurcher cross from Dogs Trust as a pup, and from these few months, we discovered she loves eating (just like her mum!). From a whole loaf of bread, to electrical wiring and my coffee table, she really has a taste for everything, but she has her good moments too and we still love her… for now.
