Fitwise CSR Activities

For Fitwise Management Ltd, we believe Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) really matters. Being one of many small businesses, giving back to our local community is very important to us. We have been exceptionally busy not only for our own work commitments but also what we, as a company, have managed to achieve as part of our CSR programme.

We have worked with 15 charities and have raised over £17,745. Below are some of our highlighted events in 2015/16 and what is planned for 2017.

2015/16

Fitwise Rucksack Project

In November 2016, the team at Fitwise brought together items for the homeless in Edinburgh. Inspired by the Rucksack Project that took place over the years in the United Kingdom, we donated items such as coats, hats, gloves, socks, sanitary items, and toiletries, as well as money towards food. We made up a total of 7 rucksacks, 4 for women and 3 for men. These items were dispersed late November via Salvation Army. We have decided to keep the Rucksack Project going throughout the year with a designated box for the homeless at our offices at Blackburn House. We will continue to fill rucksacks and hand them in to volunteers at the Salvation Army, who will take them through to Edinburgh.

Twin Peaks Challenge

Members of the Fitwise team participated in a Twin Peaks Challenge on Saturday 3rd September 2016 to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in West Lothian. The team successfully raised £745. 2 Christmas Raffles

In Christmas 2015 and 2016, Fitwise raffled off an assortment of chocolates, hampers, and wines in support of Little STARS, parent/volunteer-led support group for autism based in Wishaw, Lanarkshire and Alzheimer Scotland. With the help of colleagues, friends and family, we raised £320 for Little STARS in 2015 and £315 for Dementia Cafes in West Lothian run by Alzheimer Scotland in 2016. Thank you to everyone who supported these wonderful causes!

Local Primary Schools visit Blackburn House

With the help of the Scottish Historic Buildings Trust, Fitwise welcomed students from Blackburn Primary School, Our Lady of Lourdes Primary, and Murrayfield Primary to Blackburn House. The day was aimed to provide stimulating educational activities and opportunities for active learning of Scottish history and local business. The day included a historical tour of the house by SHBT, a treasure hunt created by Fitwise, and an activity teaching the children how the house is used today. The students designed a new knot garden in the back of the house and was created on the day.

Ben Nevis Climb

On Saturday 12 September 2015, members of the Fitwise team conquered Ben Nevis in support of the Little STARS. The walk took 7 1/2 hours and with the help of Fitwise colleagues, friends and family, we managed to raise over £500 for Little Stars.

West Lothian Walk

Members of the Fitwise team will band together for a sponsored walk to help raise money for RiverKids. This will take place in September this year. A date and location is still to be confirmed.

Christmas Jumper Day and Advent Calendar Donation

Thank you!

We would like to thank Fitwise team members, family, friends and the public for all their support over the years to help raise money for incredible causes as well as the charities that make a difference in people’s lives daily.
