Did you know?

We contribute! The employee owned sector contributes £30bn GDP to the UK economy annually.
We’re growing! The number of EO businesses is growing at an annual rate of just under 10%.
We love our work! 80% of employees not only experience a sense of achievement from their job, but would also recommend their organisation as a great place to work.

Where we are now

It has been almost 2 years since Fitwise Management Ltd officially became employee owned and it has become a key aspect of our organisation. It is an aspect that we value, respect and enjoy and we have a lot to say about it!

 Laura McCann, Marketing Executive

By being an employee owned company, there is a real sense of pride amongst the staff as we all have a strong  desire for the company to perform well and are therefore more inclined to put in longer hours and work that bit  harder as we all benefit from the company’s success. Another interesting benefit of being employee owned is  getting to see how the company operates day-to-day and getting to vote in our AGM.

Phyllis Tait, Events Executive

Working for an employee owned company, it gives you the feeling of inclusion and accountability. You can’t say it’s none of my business, because it is!

Derrick Lothian, Director of Events Operations

As part of an employee owned company, everybody has a sense of purpose. We all have a say in the future of  the company. It unites us as a team and we, as individuals, have responsibility of each other to drive the  business forward.

Katie Hill, Head of Marketing

I’m proud to work for an employee owned company, proud of what we stand for and for what we have  achieved. Being employed owned makes us unique; we really do go the extra mile as when you speak to any of us you are speaking directly to one of the business owners.

Laura Cassidy, Marketing Assistant

I am thankful to be a part of an employee owned company, not just for the feeling of inclusion but the feeling  of family. Each person’s voice is heard and position respected.

Catriona Rice, Business Development Executive

Employee Ownership – your Company = your Say = your Success = your Gains = your sense of Personal Pride =  your Motivation = great Customer Care – employee or customer, what’s not to like?

Jenny Elliot, Events Manager

Although in many ways we are like any other business, being part of an employee owned company means we  have an added sense of unity. People are always interested to hear about how it works. More companies should  be employee owned!

Catherine Wilson, Sales and Marketing Administrator

I find working within an employee company much more enjoyable than my previous employer, it feels very like a family-friendly environment, you are included in so much and always made to feel you matter, I love working  here!

Neil Watt, Managing Director

Employee ownership is all about our people. It is fundamentally important in any business to have staff who are  committed, engaged and motivated. Employee ownership enhances and encourages all of these things. There is a  real sense of us all being in it together with a common sense of purpose. We really care about what we do and  the service that we deliver to our clients.

Erin Lister, Intern

Working for an employee-owned company provides a great sense of team work and a happy working environment. Each person has a voice and even though I have only worked here for a few months, I can see that each person in the company has a say and is respected, with a real feeling of family.

Maryann Robinson, Events Administrator

Being a member of an employee owned company is like spending the day with friends who care about and take  an interest in what is happening at work and how they can keep it working for the good of everyone. We are not  just a number in a seat that is not being included in what is happening or being given the opportunity to share,  help or become involved.

Stacy Martin, Senior Events Manager

Being part of an employee owned company gives you a sense of pride that we all have a real stake in the future of our company.

Claire Muir, Events Executive

Working for an employee owned company has made me feel so much more involved in the business. I feel like  my colleagues and I are all in things together and so I feel we all have common goals, this is highly motivational  for me and I believe, it is beneficial for the company itself.
