Building an exhibition – from start to finish

At Fitwise Management Ltd, we specialise not only in securing industry support for our client’s trade exhibitions but we also oversee all elements of designing, building and managing a live exhibition.

Planning can start years in advance of the actual event and requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work with multiple suppliers, always ensuring that deadlines are being met without compromising on quality.

At one of our recent events held in Bournemouth, we recorded the exhibition build. This all happened throughout the course of one day and the exhibition was live and open to delegates the following day.

As you can see, there are many different elements to building an exhibition with multiple stand contractors, health and safety organisers and venue staff all working tirelessly to get the exhibition ready and for it to be functional for the duration of the conference.

This particular conference involved 60 companies, using a mixture of space only and shell scheme stand configurations. The exhibition also featured catering points located throughout the hall to ensure delegate footfall was wide ranging. This not only helps with queue management but it encourages delegates to visit companies that are located in corners and are perhaps not as busy as the stands located near the entrance or middle of the hall.

Our role throughout this process is to manage all the different suppliers, locating and supplying external deliveries and ensuring they are brought to the correct location. We oversee stand plans and carry out risk assessments, assist our exhibitors with any onsite orders such as electricity, internet connections and furniture deliveries.

Following safety and security checks, the exhibition can open to the conference delegates, creating an environment of networking and learning about new products to the market.

Once the conference is complete and the delegates leave, we are then involved in managing the dismantling of the exhibition. We work closely with the stand contractors and our dedicated logistics company to ensure all elements of the exhibition are broken down and packed away, leaving the hall empty for the next exhibition tenancy to begin.

Sammy has recently joined Fitwise as a Sales Campaign Executive bringing over six years of sales experience with her. Being organised and having meticulous attention to detail are some of the strengths she brings to the team, along with the ability to juggle a mix of projects at the same time.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, Sammy is a wife, mum, and dog mum. She enjoys spending her days off with family, enjoying brunch with the girls or travelling the UK attending various music gigs and festivals. After a long day or a busy weekend, her favourite way to unwind is cuddling up on the sofa with her beloved Dudley – a wonderfully crusty old Border Collie.

 

Favourite place in the world?

Sammy aims to take at least one holiday in the sun, and one city break each year. Her favourite holiday so far has been a family trip to Tenerife where she visited Siam Park, went scuba diving with a ‘shark’ (a 10-inch bath toy) and befriended a capuchin monkey – the perfect highlight for someone who is totally animal obsessed.
