Autumn is always the busiest time in our calendar for events. Having just delivered BSPD 2025 and IP2025, we are pleased to share some of our top tips on how you can use your conference to grow your membership, some ideas to engage your members at your event, and some tips on how to make your conference stand out.
We have also included updates for clients on the imminent changes which are coming for director verification on Companies House.

Companies House Updates:
From the 18th November 2025 Companies House will introduce a new identity verification process for:
- New directors and people with significant control (PSCs)
- Existing directors and PSCs
- Members of a limited liability partnership (LLP)
Your Fitwise team are currently working on “How to” guidance documents to help guide our clients through this process, and your EA/PA will be in touch with this information.

Team Updates:
We’re excited to announce some changes within the Fitwise team, recognising the dedication of our long-serving team members and extending a warm welcome to a new addition to the team.
- Katie Hill, has been with Fitwise since 2010 and heads up our Sales and Marketing Team has been promoted to Director of Sales and Marketing.
- We were delighted to welcome Rachel Hoyland to Fitwise in June as our new Head of Secretariat Services.
- Senior Event Manager, Elaine McKeown, has been appointed as the Employee Director of Fitwise Management Trustees limited.

2025/2026 Charity Update:
The Fitwise team have been busy raising money for our 2025/2026 chosen charity, West Lothian Women’s Aid, with a hugely successful walkathon in August, and bake sale in September.
West Lothian Women’s Aid are a local charity who provide safe, temporary accommodation to women, children and young people who have experienced
domestic abuse. Find out more about them here.
