Here at Fitwise, we have developed 4 key values that we proudly take into every aspect of our business practices, which means they also extend to our Corporate Social Responsibility activities. With 2023 now having drawn to a close, what better time to look back at what we’ve done over the past year to give back to our local community alongside our hardworking staff!
West Lothian Foodbank
Each year, Fitwise ask their staff to nominate a local charity to support, whether this be in the form of donations, volunteering or fundraising. This year, our chosen charity was the West Lothian Foodbank which has fed almost 70,000 people from our local community since opening in 2012. Although primarily operating as a foodbank, they also run a charity shop as well as provide a market garden and a resource centre which provides baby, toddler & music classes to families that need some extra support, alongside offer support services through their advice shop.
This year, we have worked with West Lothian Foodbank on multiple occasions to provide support, but in keeping up with our value to work hard and have fun, of course we had to keep it interesting! We like to work in partnership, so in August of 2023 some of our team spent an afternoon volunteering at the foodbank, sorting stock in their warehouse as well as preparing food parcels to go out to those in need. Our team were given an insight as to how much work goes into keeping the facility running and were impressed with how personalised each of the parcels were to the needs of the recipients, despite the large volume of parcels the facility is required to provide to the community.
Alongside our volunteering afternoon, Fitwise has also raised funds through a variety of activities including; bake sales, Christmas jumper day as well as a donations box in the foyer of our office which is donated to the foodbank once filled by our team. Thank you to West Lothian Foodbank for all they do for those in need to our local community!

International Food Diversity Day
In January, our team celebrated the first ever ‘Food Diversity Day’ – with an office full of foodies this went down a treat! With traditional foods from countries such as South Africa, Poland and Japan on offer, our team were spoiled for choice!
Halloween
Who doesn’t love a dress up party?! As is Fitwise tradition, each department chose a theme to dress as, and our Managing Director Paul chose the team with the best costume! This year the Client Support Services won with their Area 51 inspired costume, and Alastair won best individual costume with his Mad Hatter – would you believe that’s not his own hair?! The team also went bobbing for apples on their lunch break and enjoyed sweet treats from the bake sale held by the CSR Team to raise funds for the foodbank.
Christmas Jumper Day
To round up our CSR activities for 2023, the Fitwise team came together to celebrate our annual Christmas Jumper Day! With hot chocolates being made throughout the day and Christmas music playing from every departments’ office, Christmas Jumper Day never fails to get the team in the Christmas Spirit as well as raise donations for our chosen charity!
